Gran Canaria, November 24, 2025 – The Slovenian cyclist, world champion and four-time Tour de France winner, Tadej Pogačar, arrived in Gran Canaria this Monday, where he will stay for a week to train as part of the Gran Canaria 365 initiative, of which he is one of the ambassadors.

Also arriving on the island is Slovenian multiple national champion Urška Žigart, from the AG Insurance – Soudal team.

The cyclists were welcomed by Daniel González, manager of DG Eventos, and Beñat Intxausti, Manager of Riders at A&J All Sports Agency.

From November 24 to 30, more than twenty cyclists from the international peloton will carry out training sessions at various locations across the island, culminating in the demanding TotalEnergies Gran Fondo Pico de las Nieves on November 30.

The initiative also includes a press trip with international media to promote Gran Canaria as a prime destination for professional training and active tourism.
Gran Canaria 365 is a project created by DG Eventos and promoted by Turismo de Gran Canaria through Gran Canaria Tri Bike & Run, aiming to establish a sustainable development model centered on sports, nature, and the island’s privileged climate.
