The delegation from Gran Canaria attended the meeting to present the Gran Canaria 365, an ambitious project that aims to consolidate the island as a leading international cycling destination year-round. Furthermore, the team from DG Eventos, Gran Canaria , and Tri Bike & Run met with tour operators, specialized media outlets, and industry professionals to strengthen the promotion of the island as a sporting and sustainable destination.

Gran Canaria 365 boasts some prestigious ambassadors: Tadej Pogačar and Magdeleine Vallières, the reigning world champions, who, along with around twenty cyclists, will be training on the island from November 24th to 30th. Both cyclists will also participate in the TotalEnergies Gran Fondo Pico de las Nieves on November 30th.

Carlos Álamo explained that "we wanted to bring to the World Travel Market a novel event, which we believe fits the current profile of the British customer, who is currently as interested in sports offerings as in sun and beach tourism.".

From November 24th to 30th, more than twenty cyclists from the international peloton—including Jasper Philipsen, Italians Giulio Ciccone, Antonio Tiberi, and Lorenzo Rota, Czech cyclist Mathias Vacek, and prominent cyclists Mavi García, Elisa Balsamo, and Urška Žigart—will train at various locations on the island, culminating in the demanding climb to Pico de las Nieves. Simultaneously, a press trip with international media to promote the island as a prime location for professional training and active tourism.

Gran Canaria 365 is an initiative created by DG Eventos and promoted by Turismo de Gran Canaria through the Gran Canaria Tri Bike & Run program, with the aim of consolidating a sustainable development model around sport, nature and the privileged climate of the island.
